'Many make more than the president' says premier
(ANSA)
- Rome, March 13 - Premier Matteo Renzi said Thursday the government
will cut a total of 500 million euros from the salaries of managers
in Italy's civil service. "If you're a manager in the civil
service, is it right to make more than the president of the republic?
No, and there are many managers who do," said Renzi on
television talk show Porta a Porta.
"The
average among Italian managers (in the civil service) is out of
proportion to what managers make in England and Germany".
