After talks broke down between unions and management

- Rome, July 18 - Rome's Opera Theater said that Friday's performance
of the Boheme at the Caracalla open-air theater will be piano-only
and free of charge, because theater staff have gone on strike.
"Showtime is at 9pm and entrance will be free of charge until
all 4,000 seats are taken, while tickets will be fully reimbursed,"
theater management said.
Talks
between unions and management broke down earlier on Friday because
"the Opera Theater is unwilling to sign an inclusive agreement,
even though we represent half of the Opera Theater staff,"
FIALS-CISAL union said. The theater condemned the strike as "a
choice made by a minority group, which however manages to affect the
entire show".
