Cernobbio, March 22 - Partial and disorganised federalism in Italy
has led to an excessive increase in local taxes in recent years, and
needs to be thoroughly reviewed. This was the view expressed on
Saturday at a business forum in Cernobbio by Carlo Sangalli, chairman
of the trade association Confcommercio. According to Mr Sangalli,
local taxation had been overwhelming, growing by 7.8 percent in 2012
from 2011 and 650 percent from 1990. Local taxes increased by 5.6
percent from 2008 to 2012, and national taxes by 3.8 percent
