Death
threats were issued on Thursday against Somali journalists Abdimalik
Yusuf Mohamud and Mohamed Bashir Hashi of the Shabelle Media Network
in Mogadishu, Italy's national Italian press federation (Federazione
Nazionale della Stampa Italiana, FNSI) union revealed. FNSI said the
threats came after the two took part in a demonstration at its Rome
offices for human rights and a free press in Somalia on March 7. At
the centre of the FNSI demonstration was the issue of Fadumo
Abdulkadir Hassan of Kasmo Radio (the voice of women), who was raped
by two political police agents. . .
