'Threatened to flunk pair if word got out'

- Ivrea, March 18 - A 36-year-old former teacher appeared in court
Monday to answer charges of coercion against two former female
students, La Stampa newspaper reported Tuesday.
Sabrina Z. and her friend Michele, 46, allegedly took the two girls out to a swingers' club in Turin on June 24, 2010.
The teacher then allegedly threatened to flunk the pair, one of whom was a minor at the time, if they told anyone about their risqué night out. "I didn't know one of them was underage," Michele reportedly told the court at the hearing.
But rumors about the incident did get out, prompting the school principal to report the teacher to police.
"The school I run has nothing to do with this affair. I fired that teacher half an hour after I turned her in," the principal told ANSA on Tuesday.
In Italy, coercion or duress is punishable with up to four years in prison. The trial has been adjourned to October 13.
