'Significant anecdotes' raise questions about educational models

- Rome, March 21 - Growing numbers of girls in Italy are performing
sexual favours in exchange for drugs, the Italian Department for
Anti-Drug Policies (DPA) said Thursday.
The government body said the claim was based on "very significant" anecdotal evidence that "invites reflection particularly concerning the educational models and basic values that transmitted by families, but also by the media, today".
Girls who trade sex for drugs are also more vulnerable to the risk of contracting HIV and to being sexually assaulted once the drugs have been consumed, when defence reactions are inhibited, the DPA said.
