- Rome, March 28 - United States President Barack Obama may return to
Rome for the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the Italian
capital's liberation from Nazi occupation on June 4, Mayor Ignazio
Marino said Friday. Marino was speaking after going to Rome's
Fiumicino airport to bid farewell to the president, who had spent two
nights in the city. "I passed on a message agreed yesterday with
(Italian) President (Giorgio) Napolitano about the (US) president
returning for the 70th anniversary of the liberation on June 4,"
Marino said on Italian television.
"He said the summer is a good time to return to Rome. It seems to me that he gave answer that suggested it was possible".
